SARTA's MedStart Initiative: Making healthcare safer, more effective, and less costly, through technology.
SARTA’s MedStart initiative, a rapidly growing regional economic development collaborative, envisions a thriving medical device and medical technology industry in the Sacramento region and is a catalyst in making that happen.
"We believe that our region is rapidly developing as a thriving center for medical devices, diagnostics, and medical information technology, including telemedicine.” says MedStart Chair, Cary Adams. “The med-tech companies that grow here will not only create jobs, revenue, and wealth in our region, they will help save costs in the national healthcare market by improving efficiency, safety and efficacy. There’s a lot of room for improvement on all of those fronts.”
MedStart programs include the CEO Forum which engages CEOs from over 15 local med tech companies as well as industry experts and venture capitalists and the Telehealth Forum. Annual events include the Sacramento Med Tech Showcase in the spring and the MedStart Connect Mixer in the fall.
